My Heart Broke Again
My heart broke again
as her sweet ass swayed away,
braided hair hanging. She didn't look back
the hour I sang each song for
her rare proud beauty. With her mother with
her she hid her young instincts,
but felt my hot eyes.Ere I spoke my love,
as if I would, she fled the
tavern like a swanor a goddess who
had come to see the dirty
earth's worst holes and foundthis sad hell not worth
her blessing, unfit to bear
the grace of her form. Then Bev, drunk with beer,
blessed my funk with her fast smile,
bought me a bourbon. She touched me twice and
pressed her breast once against me.
Where's my hug and kiss?Like a fancy bright
bird she fluttered in the fun,
an angel gladlyfallen among us,
drinking human pleasure and
singing songs with us.She danced the slow ones.
I watched her sweet ass sway away as
my heart broke again.
