"That Boogie Thing" is an instrumental, basic blues guitar thing in a surfing vein I suppose. It evolved on stage when I was playing music on the road. You had to have some short and snappy thing to end the set with. This one could be ended after the first 12 bars if the drummer was in a hurry to go pee, or it could be stretched out if some drunks started dancing to it. Break tunes would typically be faster-paced than this and show off the guitar pickeršs prowess. This is about as much as I ever cared to show off--going for the smooth rather than the flash.

Recorded 1991 or so on the Tascam 234 Syncaset, included in the Detour collection.
